TEAM REGULATIONS-
Teams must field a minimum of 8 players, 4 of which must be female and 4 of which must be male.
A maximum of 10 people may play the field, with no less than 4 being female and no more than 6 being male.
All players in attendance may kick and the kicking order must alternate between male and female. Any doubling of women will occur at the end of the order.
GAME LIMITS
-
The home team will be determined by a coin toss.
Game time begins when the umpire announces play ball.
At the scheduled game time, if either/both team(s) is short the minimum number of players required, a grace period of 10 minutes will be given. Once both teams have reached the minimum number of required players the game will begin immediately. Grace period time will be deducted from the game playing time.
In the event of a tie, one "sudden death" inning will determine the winner. After each team has received three outs on offense, the team with the better performance (players on base, runs scored, etc.) will advance.
PITCHING & CATCHING
-
The pitched ball must travel slowly. The umpire will determine the legal speed. Any pitch traveling too fast will be considered illegal.
A pitch that bounces higher than 1 foot, at the plate, will be called a ball.
The pitcher must release the ball at, or behind the 1st – 3rd diagonal, and must remain behind this line until the ball is kicked. Failure to abide will result in a ball being called.
The catcher must stand behind the kicker and may not cross home plate before the ball is kicked. No fielder may cross the 1st – 3rd diagonal until the ball is kicked.
Only the catcher may position themselves in foul territory. To avoid collisions catchers should never stand on home plate during play.
KICKING
-
All kicks must occur at or behind home plate.
Balls and strikes will be called (3 strikes / 4 balls). The strike zone is defined as 1 foot on either side of the plate and no more than 1 foot above the plate.
Strikes are defined as:
A ball within the strike zone that is either not kicked or missed by the kicker.
A kick from in front of home plate.
A foul ball.
A ball is defined as:
A pitch outside the strike zone.
An illegal pitch.
Called when any fielder advances past the diagonal before the ball is kicked.
A kicker could foul out. Three (3) foul balls will constitute an out.
No "infield fly rule” will be called.
A bunt line will be marked 25feet from home plate. When kicked, the ball must travel past this bunt line. If the ball fails to travel past the bunt line, or if a fielder is able to control the ball before it reaches the bunt line, then it will be considered a foul ball.
BASE RUNNING
-
No leadoffs or stealing is allowed. The runner must remain on the base until the ball is kicked. Violation of this rule will result in the runner being called out.
Base runners must remain within the "base line” when running from base to base.
A runner will be called out if they are hit with the ball below the shoulders. Any runner hit above the shoulders is awarded the base. If a runner intentionally uses their head to block the ball (umpire discretion) they will be called out.
Runners may advance no further than the next base on any overthrow.
Once the pitcher is in control of the ball, in the infield, play will stop.
Official baseball rules will apply when pertaining to:
Fair vs. foul ball, once kicked
Tagging up
The base line
EQUIPMENT/SAFETY
-
The umpire will provide the official game ball.
Metal cleats are prohibited.
All exposed jewelry judged unsafe by the umpire should not be worn. Exception: medical alert bracelets and necklaces.
UMPIRE AUTHORITY
-
During a ball game the umpire is in full authority.
Harassment of umpires will not be tolerated and will be cause for immediate ejection.
Any argument of a judgment call (including balls and strikes) is cause for ejection.
If an immediate rule clarification is required, the team captain, in a professional manner, may ask for time out to discuss it with the umpire.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
-
Games will be played, rain or shine.
Games will be cancelled in the event of dangerous weather.
Every effort will be made to re-schedule make-up games.
